Juillet Marketing, a web agency based in Sainte-Thérèse, announces the acquisition of the Facebook group “Spotted: Sainte-Thérèse-de-Blainville”, one of the largest web communities in the Laurentians, with more than 38,000 active members. The company, specialized in marketing support, aims to better understand the dynamics of local communities through this acquisition.

An R&D acquisition

“Monetizing community members is not our intention,” says Jacob Hernandez-Bélanger, owner of Juillet.

He adds: “This is a unique opportunity for us to observe how members of a community interact with each other, in order to learn from them and to develop solid expertise in community management.”

The company also states that Meta currently does not offer any way for Facebook group owners to monetize their members.

The objective: to develop expertise in community management

Community management includes all actions aimed at federating and organizing members of a community, a digital marketing service that is increasingly in demand by Juillet Marketing customers.

“It is a service in high demand, but one that we do not yet offer, because we want to maintain a high level of quality in our current services”, explains the owner of the agency. Juillet plans to launch this community management service by April 2025, once expertise is consolidated through this acquisition.

Spotted in a few figures

The acquisition of the Spotted Group offers an important amount of data to explore community management, as well as a diversity of content.

  • 38,000 active members
  • 20+ posts per day
  • 35,000 impressions per day
